TERESA HUMMLER
POLITICAL SCIENTIST

Hello and welcome to my website!

I am Teresa Hummler, a political scientist at the Department of Political Science of the University of Duisburg-Essen. I am a PhD candidate supervised by PD Dr. Conrad Ziller and a member of the working group of Empirical Political Science led by Prof. Achim Goerres.

In particular, I work as a research associate in the project ‘Social openness, social control, and the integration of Muslim immigrants – A panel study in neighborhoods of selected German cities’ (LiV), which investigates the influence of the neighborhood on socio-cultural and political attitudes of Muslim immigrants and the receiving German society.

My main research interests include immigrant integration, migration and integration policy, political attitudes as well as neighborhood effects. In my PhD thesis, I analyze how local contexts shape political attitudes of individuals in Western European immigration societies.
